Job Overview

Rand Water is inviting qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the Store-keeping Assistant (K Hay Band) position within its Bulk Water Services – Operations portfolio at the Zuikerbosch site in Vereeniging, Gauteng.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing chemical orders, overseeing scrapyard operations, maintaining accurate stock and chemical records, and ensuring that reconciliations and reports are completed and submitted on time.

The role also involves supervising stores assistants, maintaining effective inventory control, and ensuring compliance with Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards and organisational policies.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 (National Senior Certificate).
• An Inventory or Financial qualification at NQF Level 6.
• At least three years of supervisory experience in an inventory environment.
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and SAP.
• A valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass Rand Water’s driving test.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Receive chemical delivery notes on a weekly basis.
• Verify contract pricing and maintain accurate chemical records.
• Compile spreadsheets containing chemical delivery note numbers, pricing and quality information.
• Create purchase orders and ensure accurate receipting of deliveries.
• Resolve chemical-related queries promptly.
• Reconcile chemical records and submit weekly and monthly reports accurately.
• Compile and maintain waste disposal records.
• Supervise and manage scrapyard operations.
• Ensure the safe storage and disposal of waste.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices.
• Conduct biannual and ad hoc stock cycle counts to minimise inventory variances.
• Supervise stores assistants and ensure compliance with applicable SHEQ requirements.
