Job Overview
The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting suitably qualified and experienced candidates to apply for the position of Driver Operator: Turf Grass, Stadia & Hard Courts within the Sport, Recreation, Arts & Culture Department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting staff and equipment, maintaining assigned vehicles and supporting the maintenance and operation of turf grass, stadia and hard court facilities.
This is a permanent position offering a basic annual salary of R286,272 to R392,628, plus applicable benefits.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 10
- Computer literacy
- Valid Code C1 driver’s licence
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- At least 2 years’ relevant experience
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Transporting staff and equipment
- Maintaining assigned vehicles
- Completing vehicle log sheets
- Adhering to safety regulations
- Supervising staff
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance on equipment
- Performing basic administrative duties
- Providing customer service
- Assisting with people management
- Supporting turf grass, stadia and hard court maintenance operations
