Job Overview

Mediclinic Southern Africa is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Care Worker – Surgical at Mediclinic Midstream in Centurion, Gauteng.

The successful candidate will support nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality patient care that meets patients’ healthcare needs. The role involves assisting with daily nursing unit activities, maintaining patient safety, reporting risks, supporting a positive patient experience and providing administrative assistance.

Candidates should have an appropriate Care Worker qualification and experience working in a healthcare environment. A Grade 12 certificate is desirable.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting nursing unit staff in delivering safe and quality patient care.
• Identifying and reporting risks in accordance with hospital policies.
• Assisting nursing staff in improving the patient experience.
• Providing administrative support to nursing unit staff as required.
• Participating in continuous personal development to improve skills and competence.
• Ensuring efficient use of stock and accurate charging of supplies.
• Following infection prevention and control procedures.
• Contributing to a safe, supportive and professional healthcare environment.
