Job Overview

AFGRI Retail is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Sales Clerk (Retail) in Middelburg.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• At least 1 year of experience in a direct sales environment.
• Good computer literacy.
• Knowledge of retail sales and customer service.
• Understanding of stock management procedures.
• Knowledge of AFGRI Retail’s product range will be beneficial.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

1. Customer Service and Sales

• Provide efficient and professional customer service to walk-in customers.
• Assist customers with product enquiries and purchases.
• Inform customers about additional products to increase sales.
• Maintain positive customer relationships.

2. Stock Management

• Monitor stock levels and identify products that need replenishment.
• Ensure stock is ordered from suppliers or the procurement department.
• Receive stock and verify quantities against delivery documentation.
• Ensure products are correctly priced.

3. Stock Control

• Conduct daily, weekly and monthly stock counts.
• Maintain accurate stock records.
• Assist in preventing stock shortages and discrepancies.
• Follow established stock control procedures.
