Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate.
  • A 3-year tertiary qualification, such as a Degree, B-Tech, National Diploma at NQF Level 6/7, Secretariat Diploma, or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
  • At least 3 years’ experience providing support services to senior management.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide secretarial, administrative and clerical support to the manager.

Key duties include:

  • Providing secretarial and receptionist support to the manager.
  • Rendering administrative support services.
  • Administering matters such as leave registers and telephone accounts.
  • Providing clerical support to the manager.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant policies, prescripts and procedures.
  • Processing travel and subsistence claims for the unit.
  • Processing invoices arising from the manager’s work activities.
  • Recording basic minutes of meetings where required.
  • Drafting routine correspondence and reports.
  • Filing documents for the manager.
  • Receiving, recording and distributing incoming and outgoing documents.
  • Handling the procurement of standard items such as stationery and refreshments.
  • Collecting relevant documents to assist the manager in preparing for meetings.

Who Can Apply?

This position is suited to candidates who have a Grade 12 certificate, a relevant 3-year tertiary qualification or equivalent qualification, and at least three years’ experience providing support to senior management.
