Job Purpose

The Shop Assistant Cashier will provide efficient and friendly customer service while handling point-of-sale activities, cash transactions, merchandising and general store duties.

The role requires a customer-focused individual who can accurately process purchases, assist customers with promotions and Clicks ClubCard activities, and maintain a clean and well-organised store environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Operating the point-of-sale system efficiently and accurately.
• Scanning merchandise and processing customer purchases.
• Collecting and handling payments safely.
• Processing Clicks ClubCard rewards and assisting with new ClubCard registrations.
• Informing customers about current promotions and special offers.
• Providing friendly, professional and efficient customer service.
• Acting as a positive representative of the Clicks brand.
• Maintaining merchandising standards in the store.
• Performing general housekeeping duties.
• Keeping product, promotion and event knowledge up to date.
• Supporting stock management and related store procedures.
• Following company policies, procedures and operational standards.
• Contributing towards a positive customer experience.

Requirements

Education

• Grade 12 is essential.

Experience

• Previous experience in a customer-facing role is desirable.
• Retail or FMCG store operations experience will be advantageous.
