To qualify for this position, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • An Administrative Diploma.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar working environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will perform the following duties:

1. Supervise Cashier Operations

  • Supervise and assist cashiers in the Driver’s Licence Testing Centre (DLTC) and Vehicle Testing Station (VTS) sections.
  • Ensure that all tasks are performed in accordance with the National Road Traffic Act (NRTA), applicable regulations and municipal by-laws.
  • Monitor the attendance and operational readiness of cashiers at the start of each working day.

2. Financial Reporting and Auditing

  • Compile, verify and finalise monthly reports on financial shortages and surpluses.
  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate and prepared for auditing.
  • Maintain proper control over payments and financial documentation.

3. Administrative and Data Management

  • Perform administrative duties in accordance with established standards.
  • Apply effective data management practices.
  • Ensure that records and documents are properly maintained and processed.

4. Compliance and Risk Management

  • Follow relevant policies, standard operating procedures and prescribed standards.
  • Help prevent and reduce the unnecessary use of financial resources.
  • Identify and escalate risks associated with financial and operational activities.

5. Safeguarding Payments and Documents

  • Ensure that all payments and face-value documents are kept safe at all times.
  • Conduct spot checks on processed documents before handing them over to applicants.
  • Verify that the correct procedures have been followed and that documents meet the required standards.

Employment Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract in accordance with a Council resolution.
