About the SHEQ Administrator Role
The successful candidate will assist with SHE risk management and continuous improvement in line with the AECI Group EHS strategy.
The position also supports the development and maintenance of plans for managing significant emergency situations involving companies within the Umbogintwini Industrial Complex.
Key Responsibilities
The SHEQ Administrator will be responsible for duties including:
- Capturing safety requisitions on the relevant system.
- Ensuring the submission of SHE leading and lagging indicators to the group.
- Keeping SHE electronic systems, including Isometrix and Opsuit, up to date.
- Providing monthly updates on outstanding EHS actions and scheduled activities.
- Attending monthly SHE and Services meetings and accurately recording minutes.
- Coordinating and participating in SHE inspections.
- Supporting SHE audits, risk assessments and investigations.
- Coordinating and participating in investigations into incidents, accidents and near misses.
- Monitoring the implementation of safe work procedures.
- Maintaining and updating SHEQ departmental administrative records.
- Implementing SHEQ controls and monitoring workplace compliance and performance.
- Recommending SHEQ risk improvement actions.
- Scheduling and conducting risk assessments at disposal plants.
- Assisting with SHEQ improvement projects.
- Supporting SHEQ management system documentation, operational checks and reports.
- Assisting with corrective and preventative measures.
- Conducting training when required.
- Coordinating team members on the SHEM (Opsuite) training programme.
- Maintaining legal and governance obligations.
- Providing operational and functional support for compliance requirements.
- Maintaining AECI Property Services document control.
- Assisting with APS Maintenance, Laboratory and SHE audits.
- Maintaining relationships with relevant stakeholders to support business continuity.
- Assisting with emergency response procedures and evacuation plans.
- Ensuring the Management of Change process is effectively managed and records are maintained.
- Following SHE policies, procedures, standards and safe work practices.

Who Can Apply?
Applicants who meet the following requirements may be considered:
- Grade 12.
- Diploma or NQF equivalent qualification in Safety Management.
- 1–3 years’ experience in a chemical operating environment.
- Experience with SHEQ document control, audit support, incident reporting, record management, compliance administration and compiling SHEQ reports.
- Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Knowledge or exposure to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems will be advantageous.
