Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Possess a qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant.
Be registered with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
Have current SANC registration for 2026.
No experience is required after registration with the SANC as a Nursing Assistant.
No experience is required after registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse.
Exposure to working at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital will be an added advantage.
Preference will be given to current CHBAH COVID staff.

Candidates should also demonstrate an elementary understanding of nursing legislation, legal and ethical nursing practices, clinical nursing procedures and applicable nursing standards.

Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living and physical care.
Providing elementary clinical nursing care.
Performing nursing duties within the applicable scope of practice.
Maintaining professional and ethical nursing standards.
Promoting quality patient care.
Maintaining professional growth and self-development.

Who Can Apply?

This vacancy is suitable for qualified Nursing Assistants who are currently registered with the SANC for 2026.

Candidates do not need previous experience after registration to apply. Applicants with experience or exposure at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital may have an advantage.

Applicants with foreign qualifications must provide a SAQA evaluation certificate.
