Job Overview

The successful candidates will undergo apprenticeship training to develop the knowledge and practical skills required to qualify as Millwrights, in accordance with the requirements of the relevant Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA), the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO), and the National Artisan Moderation Body (NAMB).

The programme provides exposure to electrical and mechanical equipment, underground production equipment maintenance, equipment safety requirements and good housekeeping practices.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following qualification requirements.

Option 1: Grade 12 National Senior Certificate

A completed Grade 12 certificate with six subjects and a minimum pass mark of 40% in each of the following subjects:

• Technical Mathematics or Mathematics
• English
• Technical Science or Physical Science

Option 2: N3 Qualification

A completed N3 qualification with six subjects and a minimum pass mark of 40% in each of the following subjects:

• Mathematics
• Engineering Science
• Business English or Communications

• Relationship Banker Private Banking
• Crew Controller – FlySafair
• Operations Controller – Shovel
• SANBS Enrolled Nurse
• Half-day Medical Administrator – Remote

Responsibilities and Training Areas

As part of the apprenticeship programme, learners will receive training in the following areas:

• Electrical equipment and related systems.
• Mechanical equipment and components.
• Maintenance of underground production equipment.
• Safety prerequisites and procedures for equipment.
• Good housekeeping practices in the workplace.
