Position Overview

Tiger Brands is seeking an Assistant Operator to support production operations at its Roodekop facility. The successful candidate will assist Process Controllers and Operators in running production equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring that manufacturing activities are conducted safely and efficiently.

The role involves working in a production environment and may require shift work to support continuous manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Operator will be responsible for:

Production Operations

• Relieve Process Controllers and Operators during breaks, leave, absenteeism, and shift changes.
• Operate and monitor processing equipment in accordance with approved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with the smooth and continuous running of production lines.
• Support the achievement of daily production targets.
• Assist with production line start-ups, shutdowns, cleaning, and changeovers.

Quality and Food Safety

• Ensure that manufactured products meet required quality and food safety specifications.
• Conduct routine process checks.
• Record production information and process data accurately.
• Identify and report quality concerns or deviations from established standards.

Equipment and Maintenance Support

• Monitor equipment performance during production.
• Report equipment faults, breakdowns, and irregularities to the relevant supervisors.
• Work closely with maintenance personnel to support efficient production operations.
