A total of 61 Owner Drivers are being sought to independently contract with CCBSA and provide delivery services in accordance with the company’s contractual requirements, operational standards and business values.

Key Purpose

The successful Owner Drivers will be responsible for performing delivery services for the supplier company’s products in line with the contractual agreement and prescribed standards.

The role requires individuals with strong driving capabilities, business awareness and the ability to operate and sustain a profitable business within the terms of the contract.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Owner Driver will be expected to:

• Manage truck-driving operations effectively.
• Demonstrate competent operational driving ability in line with K53 standards.
• Understand vehicle maintenance processes and requirements.
• Maintain a clear safety record.
• Maintain good people-management practices.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers and third-party service providers.
• Manage time and daily operations effectively.
• Apply efficient operating techniques.
• Understand the competitive business environment.
• Develop a full understanding of CCBSA operations.
• Comply with the requirements of the Road Traffic Act.
• Operate and sustain a profitable business within the requirements of the contract.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• Minimum of 3 years’ continuous Code 14 driving experience.
• Experience driving heavy-duty articulated trucks and trailers.
• Heavy vehicle and trailer driving experience.
• Must live in the area for which they are applying.
• Demonstrated entrepreneurial ability.
• Basic knowledge of business principles, including income, expenses, profit and asset management.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English and a regional language.
• Knowledge of the Road Traffic Act.
• Knowledge of accident procedures in accordance with legislative requirements.
