Main Purpose of the Job

The Pharmacy Store Clerk will be responsible for ensuring that surgical stock is properly replenished throughout the hospital and that pharmacy stock-related processes are carried out accurately and efficiently.

The successful candidate will assist with receiving, checking, storing, picking and delivering pharmacy stock while maintaining appropriate stock control procedures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Receiving and checking delivered stock in the pharmacy main store.
• Picking stock according to requirements.
• Packing trollies for delivery and replenishment.
• Performing stock-holding processes within the pharmacy.
• Supporting the timely replenishment of surgical products throughout the hospital.
• Following relevant stock delivery and replenishment procedures.
• Maintaining accurate stock handling practices.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following essential requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric with Mathematics Literacy.
• Basic experience in stock control.
• Knowledge of stock replenishment processes.
• Understanding of relevant stock control policies and procedures.

Advantageous Experience

The following experience will be beneficial:

• Approximately 1 year of hospital experience.
• Previous experience working with pharmacy or healthcare stock.
• Experience handling surgical products and medical supplies.

• AS400 system.
• General stock control procedures.

Who Should Apply?

This position may suit candidates who have Grade 12 with Mathematics Literacy, basic stock control experience and an interest in working within a hospital pharmacy environment.

Applicants with previous hospital experience, pharmacy stock experience or exposure to surgical products may have an advantage.
