Job Overview

Sasol is inviting applications for a Driver position based in Secunda, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe transportation and timely delivery of people, packages and products while complying with vehicle safety standards, operational procedures and applicable legal requirements.

The role requires a safety-conscious and reliable driver who can maintain vehicles, plan efficient routes and ensure that deliveries and other assigned activities are completed on schedule.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Grade 12 qualification.
• Valid EC1 (Code 14) driver’s licence.
• At least two years of experience operating EC1 or higher-category vehicles.
• Dangerous Goods Licence will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Safely transporting people, packages and products.
• Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting defects.
• Ensuring that the vehicle remains roadworthy and safe to operate.
• Performing basic vehicle maintenance, including refuelling, checking tyre pressure and oil levels, and changing tyres when required.
• Using vehicle safety equipment and personal protective equipment correctly.
• Planning efficient routes, including journeys involving multiple stops.
• Following site procedures, legal requirements and applicable safety regulations.
• Attending safety meetings, toolbox talks and required training sessions.
• Reporting unsafe conditions, incidents, defects and deviations from scheduled activities.
• Providing regular progress updates to the supervisor.
• Supporting team members and maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues, customers and management.
• Completing assigned duties according to operational plans and deadlines.
