CITY OF EKURHULENI VACANCY

The City of Ekurhuleni’s Water & Sanitation Department is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for a permanent Admin Assistant: Data Capturing position. The successful candidate will provide administrative and clerical support to the department, with a strong focus on data capturing, work allocation, record keeping and coordinating administrative activities.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have:

  • National Diploma in Administration
  • Qualification at NQF Level 6
  • Computer literacy
  • At least 3 years’ relevant administration experience
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities
  • Ability to work according to established policies, procedures and service standards
  • Ability to manage administrative information and records accurately

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide administrative and clerical support to the Water & Sanitation Department.
  • Handle and respond to complaints received from the call centre and members of the public.
  • Capture, record and maintain information accurately.
  • Perform administrative duties according to prescribed standards, policies and procedures.
  • Log incoming work and allocate jobs to the relevant employees.
  • Monitor work processes and ensure jobs are properly closed once completed.
  • Implement changes to work processes as instructed to achieve departmental targets.
  • Plan and organise daily activities effectively.
  • Manage personal work schedules and coordinate tasks according to established processes.
  • Ensure assigned work is completed within required deadlines.
  • Maintain the required standards of service delivery.
  • Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, 85 of 1993, and related regulations.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The position would suit an organised and computer-literate administrator who is comfortable working with data, handling enquiries and complaints, maintaining accurate records and coordinating multiple administrative tasks.
