The City of Tshwane is recruiting 10 Desktop Technicians on a two-year fixed-term contract. The positions are based in Pretoria Central and are responsible for providing ICT and technical support to computer end users.

Salary

R346,536 – R481,284 per annum

Estimated remuneration package:

Job Purpose

The successful candidates will provide ICT functional support to computer end users within the City of Tshwane.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 qualification.
• 1–2 years’ experience in ICT end-user support or desktop technical support.
• Computer literacy.
• A+ certification will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to undergo a criminal record check.
• Willingness to have fingerprints taken by the Tshwane Metro Police Department at the applicant’s own cost.

Key Responsibilities

Duties will include:

• Setting up, configuring and installing new hardware.
• Performing hardware and software maintenance.
• Providing technical support to computer end users.
• Maintaining an inventory of hardware devices.
• Investigating and resolving hardware and software faults.
• Ensuring daily service-level agreements are met.
• Performing technical support and related administrative duties.
