Job Overview

The Gauteng Department of Health is inviting applications for 7 Enrolled Nursing Assistant (ENA) Sessional Posts at Thelle Mogoerane Regional Hospital.

Successful candidates will provide basic nursing care and assist professional nurses with patient care, medical procedures and preparation for diagnostic and surgical procedures.

Applicants must have the required nursing qualifications and current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC).

Salary

Hourly remuneration is based on nursing experience and grade:

• Grade 1: R120 per hour
• Grade 2: R140 per hour
• Grade 3: R165 per hour

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Matric or Grade 12 certificate.
• Qualifications that allow registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
• Current registration with SANC as an Enrolled Nursing Assistant.
• Knowledge of nursing care procedures and relevant nursing legislation.
• Basic communication, writing and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Knowledge of Batho Pele principles and the Patients’ Rights Charter.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends and public holidays.

Added advantage: Operating theatre experience.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for:

• Measuring, interpreting and recording patients’ vital signs.
• Providing health education to patients.
• Assisting professional nurses with nursing procedures.
• Preparing patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures.
• Supporting patients’ nutritional needs.
• Providing basic nursing care within the SANC scope of practice.
• Assisting as a circulating nurse in operating rooms.
• Maintaining patient confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Performing other duties assigned by the supervisor.
