Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
• Relevant experience applying job-related concepts, techniques and processes.
• Processing Department experience will be advantageous.
• Fluent Business English.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to work in demanding working conditions.

Duties and Responsibilities

Production Operations

• Operate, monitor and control plant processes.
• Operate processing equipment such as pasteurisers, homogenisers and separators according to SOPs.
• Ensure production yield and throughput requirements are met.
• Assist with improving operational efficiency and reducing operating costs.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Record production volumes, yield, plant downtime and utility consumption.
• Participate in programs designed to maintain plant efficiency.

Quality Assurance

• Ensure the integrity of raw materials and finished products.
• Work with the laboratory to support quality assurance policies and procedures.
• Sample and test process streams as required.
• Maintain quality assurance records.
• Interpret QA results and take appropriate action when required.
• Support food safety and quality standards.

Maintenance and Safety

• Assist with plant maintenance and safety programs.
• Report equipment-related problems to the Maintenance Department.
• Perform preventative maintenance activities as required.
• Assist with diagnosing and troubleshooting maintenance-related problems.
