Key Responsibilities
The Office Cashier will perform a range of cash office and reconciliation duties, including balancing cashier daily takings and completing cashier settlement sheets. The successful applicant will also record cashier shortages and overages and complete and reconcile taking sheets accurately.
Other responsibilities include preparing daily takings for collection and physically banking cheques and cash. The employee will also be expected to order the required change for the following day’s trading and ensure that takings figures are communicated to the support office.
Any discrepancies identified during cash handling or reconciliation must be communicated to management promptly. The successful candidate must also adhere strictly to all float and cash office policies and procedures and maintain the required level of security when handling company funds.

Requirements
Applicants should have at least two years of cashier-related work experience. A Grade 12/Matric qualification is advantageous, while computer literacy, particularly knowledge of Microsoft Office, is required.
Candidates should demonstrate good numeracy skills, effective communication and strong attention to detail. The ability to follow established processes and instructions, handle routine work consistently and maintain accurate records is important for this position.
Pick n Pay is also looking for someone who demonstrates ethical behaviour and can be trusted to handle cash and confidential financial information responsibly. Applicants must be willing and able to work retail hours, including schedules that may vary according to operational requirements.
