About the AVBOB Clerk Position

The successful candidates will provide customer-focused support through the Call Centre. The role involves handling policy enquiries, assisting clients with policy-related requests, following up on outstanding requirements and supporting various insurance administration processes.

Duties and Responsibilities

The AVBOB Clerk will be responsible for duties including:

• Receiving and handling telephone policy enquiries.
• Addressing outstanding requirements on new applications.
• Providing claims enquiry numbers to branches.
• Following up on outstanding requirements relating to unpaid claims.
• Referring suitable leads to the Direct Marketing Department.
• Providing feedback on outstanding accounts and refunds.
• Following up on premium non-payments, default payments and incorrect deductions.
• Adding or removing lives from eligible policies.
• Adding children to existing child benefits where applicable.
• Removing children from eligible benefits.
• Providing duplicate policy documents to clients.
• Providing policy values to clients or authorised brokers.
• Recording client consent on the system.
• Providing permitted policy information to clients.
• Assisting with paid-up reductions and inflation-related policy changes.
• Processing reinstatements.
• Assisting with cessions, subject to required documentation.
• Processing stop payments.

AVBOB Clerk Requirements

Applicants should meet the following minimum requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric.
• 140 long-term FAIS credits.
• 1–2 years’ relevant experience in the Life Insurance industry.
• Experience in a client service policy maintenance environment.
• RE5 qualification is advantageous.
• Category B FAIS accreditation is required for applicable duties.
• Candidates who are not yet accredited must work under the appropriate supervision and arrangements.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to take initiative and responsibility.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer/client orientation.
