Job Overview

Standard Bank is inviting applications for an Outbound Telesales Consultant position within its Personal & Private Banking division in Durban.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• National Certificate in Banking (NQF Level 5), FAIS-recognised qualification or an equivalent relevant qualification.
• Must meet applicable FAIS Fit and Proper requirements.
• At least 12 months’ continuous experience in a target-driven telesales or outbound sales environment.
• Experience in banking, insurance or financial services will be advantageous.
• Ability to communicate with clients, identify sales opportunities and promote products.
• Proven ability to achieve sales targets, handle objections and convert leads into successful sales.
• Basic knowledge of Funeral Plans and Life Insurance products is advantageous.
• Experience using customer relationship management systems and sales reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Sell and cross-sell Funeral Plans and Life Insurance products.
• Conduct outbound sales calls and virtual client engagements.
• Identify clients’ insurance and protection needs.
• Explain product features, benefits, premiums and policy conditions.
• Convert sales opportunities into successful insurance applications.
• Process applications and maintain accurate client records.
• Meet sales targets and comply with applicable FAIS and operational requirements.
