Job Overview
Life Healthcare is inviting suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Pharmacy Stores Assistant vacancy at Life Westville Hospital in KwaZulu-Natal.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Willingness to work additional hours when required.
- Physical ability to handle heavy stock boxes, trolleys and stock stored on high shelves.
- Knowledge of safe lifting and handling procedures.

Key Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be responsible for:
- Receiving, unpacking and storing surgical stock.
- Assisting with stock distribution to hospital units through automatic transfers.
- Conducting cycle counts and stock takes in the pharmacy and hospital wards.
- Processing stock credits according to established procedures.
- Maintaining item codes for pharmacy and hospital wards.
- Using inventory reports to monitor and manage stock.
- Identifying and managing dead stock.
- Monitoring expiry dates, damaged stock and stock rotation.
- Performing general clerical and administrative duties in surgical stores.
- Supporting stock reporting processes.
- Maintaining good working relationships with nursing staff and other hospital departments.
- Assisting with porter processes and general housekeeping.
