Salary
Successful candidates will be appointed according to the applicable nursing grade:
- Grade 1: R181,230 – R207,225 per annum
- Grade 2: R211,401 – R239,922 per annum
- Grade 3: R249,141 – R310,890 per annum

Requirements
Applicants must have a qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nursing Assistant and must have current SANC registration.
Experience requirements differ by grade. Grade 1 requires no experience. Grade 2 requires at least 10 years of appropriate or recognisable nursing experience after registration with SANC as a Nursing Assistant. Grade 3 requires at least 20 years of appropriate or recognisable nursing experience after registration.
Applicants must have good verbal and written communication skills and knowledge of relevant nursing legislation. Successful candidates must also be willing to work compulsory shifts and remain flexible according to service-delivery requirements.

Key Duties
The Nursing Assistant will provide basic nursing care and support patients with their activities of daily living. Responsibilities include measuring, interpreting and recording vital signs, maintaining patient safety and operating relevant nursing equipment.
The successful candidates will assist professional nurses with clinical procedures and prepare patients for diagnostic and surgical procedures. They will also implement infection-control practices, ensure proper waste management and maintain appropriate ethical standards.
Other responsibilities include providing health education to patients and families and performing delegated duties within the scope of practice of a Nursing Assistant.
Successful candidates may be allocated to any sub-district within the West Rand District according to service-delivery needs.
